- Description
This unit is designed to enhance students' proficiency in both oral and written communication across diverse academic settings. The unit focuses on improving English language skills while also emphasising collaborative teamwork and the preparation of formal reports. Additionally, the unit aims to deepen students' understanding of English language mechanics, such as structure, form, and function, and to develop their ability to apply these concepts effectively.

Students are able to (1) apply appropriate written and oral communication skills; (2) demonstrate competence in English communication skills for academic reading, writing, speaking, and listening; (3) create academic documents as a communication tool; and (4) participate effectively in team projects demonstrating interpersonal and collaborative learning.
- Assessment
Indicative assessments in this unit are as follows: (1) team project and individual reflection; (2) report proposal; and (3) final report. Further information is available in the unit outline.

- This online pathway unit - Communication Mastery is designed to provide flexibility while maintaining meaningful interaction with tutors and peers. Students are required to attend a timetabled one-hour live online tutorial and complete independent pre- and post-tutorial learning activities designed to reinforce understanding, build academic skills and support success at university.
