Unit Overview

Description

This unit develops students' information literacy by supporting the development of skills to recognise when information is needed, determine what is required, locate relevant sources, and critically evaluate and organise that information. It introduces key concepts and practical skills for effectively accessing and using information in academic contexts. Emphasis is placed on navigating major information sources, including libraries, electronic databases, and the Internet. By the end of the unit, students will have the knowledge and skills necessary to undertake university-level research tasks with confidence and competence.
